Below are the candidates running for positions on our Board of Directors.
Daniel Hill
I am currently the Vice President of the Dark Clouds as well as the head of the Events Committee. I’ve been a board member for the past two years and I am running for another term because I believe while we have a lot of passionate people in our group we still need some help organizing ourselves to be as effective as possible. I feel like my background and the years of work I have done for the Dark Clouds qualify me for another term on the Board of Directors.
Jim Oliver
I’d like to continue serving. I’ve done a lot for this supporters community, and I’d like to continue. I’ve been the president since 2013, and I’m serving on the Itasca Society advisory board. I maintain most of our sponsor and high-level club relationships, and I’ve got two garages full of banners and other tifo crap from the past six years.
Raymond Pulsifer
I would like to be a part of the board of directors because I find myself not only going to all games but also the thinking of ways to improve our fan experience and make this on of the best events inAmerica. With my past experience working with the University of Minnesota, University of Minnesota Duluth, and Minnesota Vikings my connections to the sports community could be utilized as well with past experience in event management for those teams. I hope you consider me. Although the this is my first year with Minnesota united and I am not currently a member of the dark clouds. I would like to be and am now a season ticket holder for united and part of the Itasca society.
Samantha Solberg
I became a Dark Cloud in 2014 and have become more involved with every passing year. You may have seen me leading chants on the Dethloon Express, selling merch at tailgates, handing out beers at Dark Suds, taking your photo for Dark Clouds social media, or accidentally spilling Strongbow on you in the supporters section after a goal. I am passionate about the mission of the Dark Clouds to create an open and inclusive soccer supporting community in Minnesota. As a board member, I aim to help navigate the changes we are undergoing as a growing group, while constantly keeping this mission in mind. I also strongly believe in supporting the service work done by Silver Lining and hope to play an active role in helping to expand that work in the future. The DCs are truly my community and I would be honored to represent the Dark Clouds as a board member.
Andy Wattenhofer
I would like to continue my work as the board treasurer in managing the finances of the organization. We’ve got a stable organization that is poised for explosive growth in the next two years. For 2017 and beyond, I would like to develop strategies for increasing revenue, improving the diversity of our organization, rivaling other MLS teams in fan experience, and increasing our involvement in the community and charitable endeavors.
